Carnival Miracle or Royal Caribbean Rhapsody?

Trying to decide between two different western carib cruises, one on the Carnival Miracle and the other on the RCI Rhapsody of the Seas. The price and itinerary are almost the same, so the ship is the main deciding factor....Opinions one way or the other? It's a 7 day cruise with 2 days at sea.

We are a couple in our 30s, leaving the kids behind to celebrate our 10yr anniversary. :D We've sailed with RCI 2x in the past on one of their new megaships, but I have the feeling that the smaller, less crowded boats will be more our style. Budget is also important to us!

Have not been on the RHapsody, but just sailed the Miracle. The Miracle does not have the Carnival upgrades, and just one water slide. The ship is cozy, only about 2300 passengers. The decor is to say different. Take a look at a you tube video. We enjoyed the Miracle very much. The crew was one of our best.

I think we were looking at the Carnival Magic (out of Ft Lauderdale) vs. RC Rhapsody (our of Tampa). We were just going to do RC since our last 2 cruises had been with them and we hadn't done Carnival yet. However, the deciding factor was the day the cruise started. Carnival is Sat-Sat whereas the RC one we were looking at was Sun-Sun. Nothing like having a relaxing week of vacation, to port Sun morning and then rush home. We booked Carnival! Travel agent told us it's a nice ship. She's always been good with recommendations. We will know for sure in about 65 days...
