B2B with gift cards on s&s card

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I've been reading a lot in the forums and haven't quite found the answer I'm looking for, but forgive me if this has been answered before. I am going to try to use Carnival gift cards for my entire s&s account. Since we are doing a B2B, can we load all the gift cards at the beginning of our first cruise and they will stay loaded through the second week? Or do I have to "cash out" and load the next round at the beginning of our second cruise?

Thank you all so much!!

Been there, done that.

At the end of the first leg you will receive a check for unused balance.

Present it to the purser in the beginning of the second leg and they will put it back into your account (technically they will cash the check and then apply cash to your second leg of the trip).

Hope that helps

With gift cards, I wouldn't bank on receiving a check. Cash out and then apply to your new S&S card. Remember, with gift cards, you have to cash out using the casino trick. Alternatively, stop into Cherry on Top and purchase new gift cards (charged to your S&S) for your remaining balance, then present them for the 2nd leg.

Have fun! I can't wait to try a B2B :)

Thank you all so much for the info! I'm so sorry, what is the casino trick? I've heard others mention it, but I'm not overly familiar with it. My husband and I don't gamble and spend no time in the casino 😬

I've read of some people who only put their credit card to the s&s card, and on the last night of the cruise, go to Guest Services and apply the gift cards. Is this easily done? On the 1st leg, we have FTTF, but not on the 2nd leg. Does this require a lot of time spent at GS?

To use the casino trick, put your S&S card in a slot machine. Follow the directions on the machine to set up your Player's Bank. Transfer from your S&S to your Player's bank all of the money you wish to withdraw. Load some money to the machine. Play at least 1 turn. Transfer all money back to your Player's Bank. Take your S&S card to the casino cashier and cash out.

I still think that for your purposes, you would be better off going to Cherry on Top and purchasing a new gift card with your S&S card for the amount that you have left on your account. That way you don't have to deal with cash.

On the last night of the cruise there is a HUGE line at GS. If you don't have FTTF, it will take forever. You can load GC at the kiosk, in theory. I have never gotten it to work and when I ask, they always tell me that the kiosks don't work right for the GC.

Interesting tip! :) Didn't know they sold gift cards at the candy store.
