yellowbird23 Posted December 21, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 21, 2005 On the way back from our trip this past weekend, the bus driver informed us that they have 19 ships on the docket for the weekend starting before Christmas and 22 ships on the docket for New Year's Eve weekend. That blows my mind!
Leafpeeper Posted December 21, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 21, 2005 It sure would be fun sitting on the jetty at South Beach watching all the ships go by. Smith & Wolensky's is a fun spot to watch from too while sipping a cocktail between 4 and 6. We are heading to Florida in 41 days (and counting). Can't wait to get out of the cold. That blows my mind! We will be on one of those ships, but wish it wasn't in Miami. The original itinerary was Key West. Darn! Gotta go pack! M. SRQfireman Posted December 21, 2005 #4 Share Posted December 21, 2005 They must be going to "raft" the boats off one another because there is not that many berths there....I know they do sometimes berth ships behind the RCI building on the south side of Dodge Island

timbo89 Posted December 21, 2005 #6 Share Posted December 21, 2005 Although there actually will be 16 ships in Miami port over the Xmas weekend, the maximum in port on any one day will be 5. The biggest day in port will be on January 2nd, when there will be 6 ships in port: Carnival Victory Fascination Imagination Brilliance Of The Seas Explorer Of The Seas Majesty Of The Seas Radiance Of The Seas It could be fun!!! That blows my mind! That is a total for the 4 days, Friday through Monday. There are enough berths at the port to support that.
