Back to back cruise question

We are considering a back to back cruise on the Sun. Would we have to disembark between the cruises?

Could we keep our same state room?

Would they change our bedding and clean our room during disembarkment?

Could we do an excursion that day!

Just curious how it works.

It depends of the port for the B2B, in Miami you need to go to immigration and then return to the ship. Yes you can go to the port they give you the new card or a transit card, just return before the safety drill. They do the cleaning of the room as all days.

For the same cabin also it depends if its available for the 2 cruises, we book early Almost 2 years in advance Silhouette B2B (Caribbean) and Eclipse B2B2B (Hawaii and Pacific coast)

(1) Yes you do disembark. Someone from the ship will lead you through Customs (if in the US) and right back on again.

(2) If you have booked the same stateroom for both cruises, yes. No need to take anything out.

(3) Yes your room is cleaned

(4) You can leave the ship but in the b2b's I have done no excursions were available returning to the ship.

Did a back to back with RCI in 2016. So on the final morning of the first cruise all us b2b'ers were told to meet in a certain lounge. At approx 1000 hrs we were all escorted off the ship in one small group, taken down to the customs area in the terminal.

We were given new ship cards and I think customs might have checked out passports. Then we were escorted back onboard the ship in full view of alllllll the other waiting passengers. It was kinda awesome. You felt like a celebrity lol

For us we actually had two different cabins so all we had to do was pack everything that was in drawers into our suitcases and leave them in our first cabin. Our cabin steward then transferred all the bags plus stuff on hangers to our new cabin (gave him a good tip for the extra work fyi).

Very straight forward. We didnt bother getting off the ship to see anything in Miami. When we got back on board what we did do was take our swim suits and go straight to the hot tubs and pool when there was no one else around..was nice for an hour or so till they start embarking the new passengers

We have done 2 B2Bs and what the others have said is the way it works. They usually tell those doing the B2B, to meet at a certain time and place. They then escort you off the ship, thru customs, get a new ship card and then bring you are back on. If you want to disembark, you can, as you cannot get back to your cabin as they are cleaning it. If you CAN get the same cabin for both cruises, great, if not, they usually move your suit cases to the new one, though you do have to pack everything up.

Enjoy the B2B.

Cheers

We have done two b2bs, one out of Mia, and the other out of San Juan. The b2b out of Mia was the exception to the rule. Because of a certain virus not to be mentioned, we had to leave the ship for the day (we got a free tour of Mia). They escorted us back onto the ship.

The b2b out of San Juan was handled as it normally would have been, we could either be escorted off the ship and then brought right back on, or we could do our own thing in the old city. We chose to go into the old city, BUT, they gave us a sticker to wear to get back on board, which let us bypass all the new cruisers wanting to get on. :D

You will receive a letter a few days before the first leg ends, giving you instructions on what to do.

Enjoy!!
