northernrose Posted February 4, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted February 4, 2018 we like Sam Adams, Michelob Ultra and especially Kokanee light.
Terab85 Posted February 4, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 4, 2018 we like Sam Adams, Michelob Ultra and especially Kokanee light. My husband did the bucket of Michelob Ultra on the Magic while we hung out in Serenity. I think you save like $2 by getting the bucket.
Shaded Lady Posted February 4, 2018 #6 Share Posted February 4, 2018 You used to be able to get the larger cans of Fosters beer as well for the same price- more beer, same cost. I'm not sure if that still applies as we didn't do it on our last cruise.

I loved the craft beer options on the Vista, but for the normal bars around the ship I just got a Foster's. Best bang for your buck. :)
jayscore Posted February 5, 2018 #8 Share Posted February 5, 2018 The "B.O.B." option is fine if you plan on moving about and drinking the contents quickly. From my experience, the "bucket" is not filled with ice, unless you ask, nor is there a bottle opener included. (Travel tip: bring a "church key"!) In the casinos, the BOB is a nuisance, because there is nowhere to "park" the thing conveniently. Now, if you are with folks helping out with the libations, the .50 cent a per bottle discount may seem worth it. Just my observation, of course!

(Travel tip: bring a "church key"!)I My brother always buys the "BOB" and has the exact opposite of what you described. They always had ice and the caps were always taken off. One time he ordered a brand that came in glass bottles. We were on the Lido deck and they had poured the beer into plastic cups. He said they got flat before he could drink all of them. I think most of the bottled beer has twist off caps on them if they do come capped.

dmdiver Posted February 5, 2018 #12 Share Posted February 5, 2018 Our buckets have always been filled with ice. We order Miller Lite, so they are aluminum twist off bottles.
d12j28 Posted February 5, 2018 #13 Share Posted February 5, 2018 Always got ice in the bucket. Aluminum bottles of Budweiser, Bud light, Bud light lime and Ultra are not twist off caps so take a bottle opener.
splintz Posted February 5, 2018 #14 Share Posted February 5, 2018 you can also combine beers. like 2 miller lites, and 2 coronas. it is basically just a 50 cent discount on each beer.
dmdiver Posted February 5, 2018 #15 Share Posted February 5, 2018 That's what I was thinking - that you could mix - just couldn't remember for sure.
emceejay Posted April 3, 2018 #16 Share Posted April 3, 2018 Have they moved to cans yet for Corona / Light or is it still glass bottles, which they pour into those plastic bottles?
