PERSONAL MOBILITY DEVICES (WHEELCHAIRS/SCOOTERS/SEGWAYS)

Personal mobility devices should be able to fit in a standard stateroom with a 22" entry doorway. If the wheelchair/scooter is larger than 21", a Fully Accessible (or Fully Accessible-Single Side Approach) stateroom must be purchased or a smaller mobility device needs to be rented. Due to safety considerations, wheelchairs/scooters cannot be stored (or charged) in the corridors or any public areas, (e.g., lounges, Guest Services offices, etc.). Mobility devices must be stored in the stateroom in a way that does not block safe egress from the stateroom. Many scooters can be collapsed and stored underneath the vanity area. If you are bringing a Segway, it must be stored in your cabin for use at ports of call only.

The above is true, but I've seen walkers, folded wheelchairs, & scooters in the hallway even if it is not allowed.

Book a handicapped room.

I travel with a scooter, and although the HC room is great, it is booked fast. I still bring it, and both of the scooters we use, will break down into manageable pieces. However, she has me to do that kind of stuff. The OP's statement was they only need it in port, which is the same for us. So a regular room is an inconvenience, it can be done, and we do it all the time.
