Just save $100.00

We paid for our entire cruise, gratuities, and S&S card with the gift cards. They saved us a few hundred dollars! I love that we have this option.

As far as the S&S cards go, if you don't spend all the money on board can you do the casino trick or will they only give you a gift card back?

Thank you for all the info about the cards on here...so easy....

Just a question for clarification...I of course would rather ecards than actual gift cards - but that is all they have right now. We have some time to our due date for final payment so not worried...

BUT is there a reason the $100 gift cards are not as good as the $500...other than having to enter 5 numbers instead of one when you are redeeming...is there something I don't know?

Thanks!

In another thread someone said you can enter no more than nine cards online but that they was no limit if you called in, so consider that if you’re getting a bunch.

Personally it was a bit of a pain to enter the info for my four $500 cards. But worth it.

I have some questions about this. I'm trying to decide what will save me the most money. I can use my carnival mastercard to pay off my cruise at 2 points per dollar or I can buy the gift cards at 10% savings for 1 point per dollar. I know the carnival card point difference isn't worth the money I would save which makes me think that the gift cards are the way to go, but when I add them to my cart, then factor in tax and shipping my 10% discount is reduced by more than half.

Am I missing something? I don't see a way to get the cards via email and it seems like sales tax kills the discount. I would be saving approximately $20 for $500 in gift cards. It's better than nothing but not sure if it's worth it.

Your math is way off. You save $50 on a $500 gift card. There is no tax and no shipping on the eCards so you save $50 on the eCards. The physical cards have no tax and are $0.59 for shipping for a $500 card.

The $0.59 per card shipping reduces your savings on a $100 card from 10% to 9.41%. $0.59 is only 0.59% of $100. 10% - 0.59% = 9.41%

The savings on a $500 card is reduced from 10% to 9.882%. $0.59 is only 0.118% of $500. 10% - 0.118% = 9.882%

With the 1 funpoint per dollar earnings rate(1%), that is an additional $0.90 savings on the $100 card($100 × 10% = $90, $90 × 1% = $0.90) and $4.50 savings on the $500 card($500 × 10% = $450, $450 × 1% = $4.5). Using any rewards credit card with at least a 1% earnings rate would more than take care of the shipping fee for each card.

Thanks for going to all this trouble, but my main issue was the fact that the AARP page said that sales tax would be calculated at check out and I was concerned that paying sales tax would eat into the savings. According to the previous responses, sales tax is not charged which helps my decision.
