Star Class

Can anyone share their experiences with Star Class? What do you get? Any additional experiences? What did you ask from your Royal Genie? Worth it??

Once you try star class you will be spoiled for life! The Royal Genie is fabulous. You will never wait for anything. Your Luggage travels with you to the cabin. You are Personally escorted on and off the ship. All reservations are made for you. You can cancel if needed and reschedule. Your Genie will be waiting to save you the best seats for the shows. We had surprises like cupcakes, macaroons, fruit, champagne delivered daily. Deluxe drinkk plan included. Free Gratuities included. Free Voom for each person! Coastal kitchen all day! We even had shakes from Johnny Rockets delivered to our cabin one evening! One of the neighboring cabins had a giant bowl of shrimp and cocktail sauce delivered at 2 am.! Our Genie actually gave each one of us a gift to thank us. So nice! The added cost for star class can be costly, but every once in a while you can find a really great deal! The Genies work extremely hard to make sure you are WOWED! We tipped our Genie well at the end of the cruise. Loved it so much that we are doing star class again in a few months.

I am excited, we are booked in the Aquatheater Suite on the Allure in September. I am very interested to hear what everyone's experience has been as I am getting conflicting impressions and our travel agent has never traveled in this class before.

One of the best things with star class is you don’t have to put your luggage out the last night. The final morning the genie and a porter come to your suite and whisk you and your luggage away to the customs line.

While in the suite you will be treated like a VIP. Our genie gave us presents.

In the afternoon, a drinks cart comes to your suite so you can have whatever drink you want.

Our experience for luggage on Harmony, the last three times, was that it had to be put out the night before. This was the case this March, and September/March of 2017. We asked and it was not offered. On Allure in August 2016 it had to go out the night before as well.

It must have varied by ship or it has changed over time.

On Oasis in September 2017-a porter picked it up that last morning. We also were escorted off the ship by our genie. I hope that is how it is done fleet wide and not by ship. Otherwise I will carry my own luggage.

We had the Genie escort off the ship but our luggage was waiting in the Suite/Pinnacle area. Sounds Oasis does things a bit differently.

Just off Anthem. Genie and a ship porter escorted both us and our luggage together into the terminal. There, the bags were loaded onto a Bayonne porter. Genie escorted us to priority customs. We said our goodbyes to the genie and Bayonne porter came with us to the car garage.

The amphitheater 2 bedrooms will hold up to eight. The first two are the most expensive. If you bring additional, their fares are much lower. If you average it out, it's not as bad and almost everything on the ship from what I understand is included. Specialty restaurants, wifi, gratuities, drink package, etc. I'm still learning and trying to figure out how to get the most out of this.

We absolutely loved our Star Class experience on Ovation of the Seas. Our genie was incredible, from the moment she met us in the terminal (and rolled our luggage directly on board for us), to all of the extra special touches that she added to our cabin and sailing experience, through walking us off the ship (but luggage went out the night before) - it was truly amazing.

We pre booked all of our tours (with independent tour operators) and booked all of our specialty dining before we boarded, but once on board we had several dining changes that our genie just made happen (which was greatly appreciated).

I wouldn't say that we asked for anything extra, but our Genie seemed to be at most of the places we were checking in to make sure we were having a wonderful time.

If you have other questions, we would be happy to answer.

Does the genie always come through with reservations. Seems like the specialty restaurants will be booked before he/she is expected to contact us,

I have never had trouble getting restaurant reservations even after boarding, so if the genie contacts you before you even get on the ship i’m sure they will be able to book what you want

The genie makes everything work, especially if you pre-book a week or two out. Had eight Genie cruises and never once been told they can not accommodate, even with a party of eight or ten and changing mid-voyage.

Thank you. The restaurants and the OTW cabana are our two big wishes.

I would reply about the cabana the moment you get the email from the Genie. In six instances with that, only once did they not have the OTW available by the time I replied back. The issue is the concierges offer it to their guests about the same time and they don't coordinate, so they can fill up pretty quickly. In practice they should offer to Star Class first, then to regular concierge guests.

My understanding is, that is the practice. As soon as we get the welcome email from the Genie we send the cabana request back right away.

With our Genie cruises we do prebook and pay for the Hibachi. It is refunded on board but it is the one venue that can get tight for space. Other wise we just let our Genie know the time and venue and it has been all good.

If you reserve an OTW and due to weather, etc., it cannot be used. Will they refund or credit the money?

My understanding is that they will only refund if the ship does not stop there.

We have the same experiences as everyone else. The one additional thought is, we have my granddaughter with us and for the ice show they reserve a place for 2 kids to sit and then they are taken on the ice in the swan boat. A very special perk we had the privledge of taking advantage of 2 times on the Oasis. Our genie, Allan, brought us small treats like chocolate covered strawberries and several desserts after our dinner on the A1 balcony many times. The highlight for my granddaughter was the macroons she could get whenever she wanted a box. We actually were one of the first to sail Star Class when it was first started and will never sail otherwise when on a ship with that option. We sailed 2 times on Oasis and now in Sept. and March 2019 we will be on the Anthem in Star Class. As someone already said, once you sail Star Class you will have a hard time going back. Will be anxious to see if Allen is still on board the Anthem in September, hoping maybe we can have him take care of us again.
