Weetahbugdotcom Posted May 10, 2018 Author #255 Share Posted May 10, 2018 Sooooooo.... That spa pass that I bought when I got my tax return, that I had only used once as of Thursday morning? I donned a bathing suit and some clothes on top and tried to make my way over to the spa. It was then I saw towering, snowcapped mountains surrounding the ship, cool wind whipping around it, and hot steam rising from the empty hot tubs. ...also a drink cart with hot glacier bay drink specials. I knew what I had to do. I enjoyed a nutty Irishman, a spicy sailor, and a white Alaskan beer. For the first coffee drink, I had to pay for the cup and the coffee (but not the booze.) for the second, I just paid for the coffee. The beer was covered under UBP. The 2 hours I spent in that hot tub, in the cold open air, with only one person joining me for a brief period, was one of the best moments on the ship. The drinks were very sweet, but good. Weetahbugdotcom Posted May 10, 2018 Author #256 Share Posted May 10, 2018 Rangers on board. Went back to my room to warm up. Since I knew this was a big dinner night, I decided to try out the lotus garden for lunch. If there was not much to eat, well, oh well. Historically, NCL’s Asian offerings (with the exception of teppanyaki) are the least considerate (when in reality it’s super easy to be accommodating in Asian cuisine) to vegetarians. Yup. Basically I could have a spring roll, and fried rice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Weetahbugdotcom Posted May 10, 2018 Author #257 Share Posted May 10, 2018 No offense, fried rice, but you are a free side with take out. The “filler” you get at a hibachi restaurant. You are not a meal (except for when my boyfriend makes this lovely complex, gingery, almost floral noted concoction out of the leftover brown rice we get with our Chinese.) I asked the waiter if we just removed the meat from one of the noodle dishes, if it would be vegetarian or if there was meat stock or fish sauce hiding in it. He said it had something in it but they could make it vegetarian for me and actually already started. That was nice. I also got hot sake. It wasn’t amazing, but it was serviceable. Anyway, I really appreciated that they made some accommodations for me. I think a little more thought from off the ship could make it where they DONT Have to make special accommodations for vegetarians. Asian food is easy. The people next to me were loudly talking about not wearing underwear. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Rare Von & John Posted May 10, 2018 #258 Share Posted May 10, 2018 Our favorite place to watch the glaciers is from the hot tub! Everyone seems to be under the impression you are cold ;p. For those who ask, I just ask them if they sit in the outdoor mountain hot tub after skiing...
Weetahbugdotcom Posted May 11, 2018 Author #259 Share Posted May 11, 2018 Tonight was date night. You know. With myself. I dressed up, put some eyeshadow on, my lucky necklace, and went to bar city to have a drink or two before my reservation. And then James Michael happened. He just kept making me drinks. My new favorite drink is the getaway, it has yuzu and St. Germain in jt. Nope that’s not it. There we go. By the time I got there I was a little buzzy. Weetahbugdotcom Posted May 11, 2018 Author #260 Share Posted May 11, 2018 There was a table of officers and staff eating next to me? The man at the end was pretty much holding court. I had a couple yummy veuve cliquots. Asparagus appetizer A salad that I didn’t notice had duck in it so I had to dizzily pick out the duck: Their vegetable Napoleon which is delicious, always. Put a deep fried herb leaf on anything and I am in heaven. Then yummm dessert Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Weetahbugdotcom Posted May 11, 2018 Author #261 Share Posted May 11, 2018 I had another glass of veuve and thought this lady in my booth looked like me. I went back to my cabin after. That was a smart thing to do. Oh look, a frog. I kissed it. Nothing happened. So I passed out... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

jenniferandwhatnot Posted May 11, 2018 #264 Share Posted May 11, 2018 Aww I think I saw you at the whiskey bar that night while we were walking past to go to dinner. Honestly I was so hungover on glacier bay day I was miserable and didn’t have much else to drink the entire cruise. I missed a lot based on your photos of the day. Kris got a few shots from the balcony and caught the calving. It was great to meet you during the pub crawl and thanks for being a good sport with Kris’s tequila shot with pineapple back! We both do shots the same: one sip at a time. Enjoying the review as I get back to reality. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Most people that I met I saw regularly I was way less social than I expected anyway- and way less drinky (although I had my moments...)That shot though.... it’s been a long time since I did shots I guess. It was super nice to meet you guys too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Weetahbugdotcom Posted May 11, 2018 Author #268 Share Posted May 11, 2018 Is Lotus Garden open for lunch every day? It seemed it! Maybe not embarkation day. I didn’t pay a lot of attention to it, but I don’t remember seeing it empty during the day ever except for the first day.
