Names for new Disney ships: Your guesses?

Every name that was selected by Disney for its majestic cruise ships were magical, and very unique. Now with the Disney Wish and the upcoming Disney Treasure, there might be a chance for a good name to accompany these two jewels of the fleet. Which is why I came up with the idea of naming the third Triton Class ship, the Disney Destiny. Why Destiny? Well, everyone who made a Wish, always find a Treasure as proof that their wishes were granted, but also these wishes can guide you to your destiny, beyond the horizon.

In general, it is better to start a new discussion thread rather than resurrect a discussion that has been dormant for several years. While there were a couple of posts before yours in 2022, the vast majority were from 2018. Just like the saying, “Let sleeping dogs lie”, old discussions usually shouldn’t be woken back up.

Disney just announced the sister to Disney Wish and Disney Treasure will be named Disney Destiny. It's ok. Nothing really unique or special. I was hoping for something more like...

Not much thought went into that!  A recycled Carnival ship name!  They could have done better.

Honestly surprised they haven't used Imagination yet. Let's see if they add any new builds after the Destiny first.

They really are following the Carnival naming convention.  At least the other names (Fantasy, Dream, Magic) fit the Disney theme.  Destiny?  Nothing magical about that.  They could have used Disney Princess and been unimaginative but at least had a name fitting with the Disney theme.

 

After the first Noro outbreak, she will be known as the Disney Dysentery!  Just like the Carnival ship was....

I thought the Disney Adventure (formerly the Global Dream) might have been named Disney Star. As in..."When you WISH upon a STAR all of your DREAMs come true." There are already two other ships' names in that lyric. Of course, "star" is a very common cruise ship name as well.

Sure. But not every Disney ship's name is completely original. For example...

Disney Magic - Carnival Magic
Disney Dream - Carnival Dream
Disney Wonder - Wonder of the Seas
Disney Adventure - Adventure of the Seas
Disney Fantasy - Carnival Fantasy 

The only original names in the fleet are Wish and Treasure. So, if they aren't totally unique at least have names that are associated with the Disney brand and its values. Destiny doesn't really fit that criteria, IMO.

Does the speculation now come if Disney orders new builds after the Destiny? A new class? the Magic is currently 26 years old and the Wonder is 25 years old. Disney will need to replace them within the next 5 years.
