Youth club tipping

Sailing in a couple of weeks with a kid for the first time. I know kids club staff don't get any of the DSC. What do people use the kids club tip?

I tried to tip once, and was told it wasn't allowed. These staff members are compensated at high rates due to their education and training levels. I was told it was similar to the cruise director.

We’ve tipped every time, depends on how much kids are there and kids opinions.

We tip each cruise. Interestingly if you are using your onboard account to tip, you must tip an individual, guest services cannot generate a misc. gratuity voucher for "Splash Academy Staff" or so they said.

They leave envelopes out on the last day so you can tip if you want.

We just did the 9 day Breakaway cruise. Both of my children were in the club at least once per day, both in different groups. So we tipped $40 per child.

We tip them too... I gave $10 to each of the folks that ran the dolphins group on the last night on the Pearl... the way they acted you would think I gave them $100... it was really sweet and they were very thankful.

We tip them every time the kids stay for a lunch or dinner or an latenight. And then we tip again at the end of the week depending on how much they use the service.

We tipped $50 for the week for 7 day with 1 child. They did not want to accept but they made the cruise for my GD. She still talks about it and would rather cruise than go back to Disney

Ignore this post I made above... After reading the other responses, I asked my husband if I was nuts. He said yes, I am, and that this was on DCL not NCL. Of course, that was 10 years ago, too, so whatever. My memory is fading fast with age. ;p

If you ask, they'll give you a list of the staff who worked directly with your child's age group so you can divide it up by name. That was handy.
