Engagement

I would suggest you contact the ship and arrange to propose to your girlfriend on the helipad. It is in the front (bow) of the ship and is quite private as you can only be their by being escorted by ship personal. You can arrange to have champagne delivered and they even allow a few friends to attend.

If you time it right the view is assume!

On a chic evening, put the engagement ring inside a Champagne glass

Somehow this always comes up as a romantic proposal idea but personally I would hate it. She gets the glass and sees the ring, but now she either has to chug a glass of bubbles to get to it, dig it out with her fingers, or go find a spoon or something. And whichever she does, she now has a ring that's wet and sticky. Yuck!

I have heard the latest thing is to halve an avocado, and take out the pit. Then you can open it, and inside will be the ring. Best wishes!

A ring with slimy green avocado on it? That's even worse than champagne. :(

When a girl gets an engagement ring, she ought to be able to put it on straight away without having to wash it off first, or figure out how to actually get to it without making a mess.

Wow! Plenty of room to put cotton, a piece of cloth, whatever, around the ring to keep it clean. Use your imagination. It would be a surprise, anyway. I didn’t expect such negative comments!! I suppose other fruits would work, but, an avocado goes back together seamlessly. Funny, I am being knocked for my suggestion, and nobody thought that “ me and my girlfriend “ should be changed to...my girlfriend and I. I guess I am old, and incorrect grammar grates.

First of all...congrats!

I asked my girlfriend ahumm fiance last summer on the helipad of the Reflection.

I e-mailed the captains club and after a few weeks I got a reply that everything was arranged.

The staff thought about everything, all the ports were industry ports so the proposal was on the only day that we had a nice surrounding, the bay of Villefranche sur Mer.

There was romantic music, a rose and ofcourse champagne. it was amazing and a very special place!

Good luck!

I thought your idea was great. I'm not remotely bothered about "yucky" avocado, champagne or anything else for that matter if it means getting my hands on a diamond! Lol

Incorrect grammar is my bête noire too. [emoji37]

Hi all,

Me and my girlfriend are going on a Celebrity cruise on the 7th April this year starting in Singapore and ending in Dubai, I need ideas for proposing to her, she doesn't like massive displays of public affection so doing it in front of a big crowd is out of the question!

Any tips and hints would be great as this is my 1st cruise onboard Celebrity!

:D:D:D

In a quiet moment, just ask her to marry you. There is no correlation between good marriages and cute proposals. And for any bridezillas or groomzillas out there, there is also no correlation between good marriages and 'perfect' weddings.

People focus on the wrong things. It is the marriage that counts, not the proposal or the wedding.

IMO

There's also no reason you can't have it all. It's definitely the marriage that counts but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the other things.
