Drink Card - Liberty of the Seas - this is a new twist

Recommended Posts

I don't drink at the bars. I drink in the Lounges. All of the servers there are good. :)

Couple weeks ago on Liberty I thought the bartenders in the Diamond Lounge were kind of abrupt. For the first time I was stopped and demanded to see my Seapass card, that has never happened before. Usually I offer to show it and they've beenof the attitude since you're trying to get in here, we trust you're Diamond. They were kind of abrupt all week, too, making a show of opening cans of sodas since I was taking them out. Wasn't even going very far, just outside the door to a table there.

Ever since I've been Diamond the lounge has always been crowded first night and then slacked off the rest of the week. This last time it was packed nearly all week, didn't slow up until around Friday (guess everyone was at dinner getting their lobsters). All week it was full of elderly people (no disrespect meant) nursing their glasses of White Zinfandel for 3 hours. Not budging from the lounge. I was getting the impression a lot of peeps had just turned Diamond.

My fav bartender from my previous 2 cruises was still there! This cruise in the casino but the casino is not an optimal place to drink. We'd do drive-by drink ordering, passing through to the Schooner Bar.

Soooo. My cruise next month is on Vision.....

we sailed on Liberty recently, and while we did not see the beer card, we did take advantage of the 10-drink card, which i believe was offered on day 4, tho we did not purchase til 5 as we decided not to get off the ship that day. we shared it b/w two of us, and it worked perfectly. it seemed to be hit or miss whether the bartenders asked us to sign a slip for an additional tip on top of the standard 18%. and since we had it we used it to buy 'fun' drinks like piña coladas or margaritas, instead of 'buckets' of beer. we did think that if we had purchased it on day 4, we likely would have purchased another a few days later (and therefore spent more and drank more). that could be good or bad depending on your goals for the cruise ;)

Has anyone asked a bartender early if the 10 drink card is available, like day 1,2 or 3?

I’m not a big drinker, maybe 1 or 2 a day.. this would be perfect. However, buying it on day 5, I would feel compelled to slam more than 1 or 2 drinks to finish the card.

Unlike the drink package, you are welcome to share the drink card. :)

Yes, we've asked on day 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ... On Oasis, the bartender told us day 3. Came back on day 3 to the same bartender, and he says day 4. Anyhow, I've never seen it on day 1 or 2 of a 7 day cruise.

They would be shooting themselves in the foot if they did that.

Why, 10 drinks is 10 drinks?

I was told they are offered when alcohol sales are beneath projection.

I bought one once. Used it on 3 cruises.

All Oasis

Always towards end of the trip[emoji6]
