AmBear Posted March 17, 2018 #26 Share Posted March 17, 2018 I have always carried my drivers license and my seapass card for ID when going off a ship. This July we will have family members with us. The teens range from 18-15 and will have passports, our grandson has his drivers license. I am wondering if the seapass card is enough ID or will they need another form of ID to get on the ship once they go to a port. I don’t like the idea of carrying passports around however maybe they could make copies of them. What do others do if you had a similar situation?? Thanks for the information and have a good day.:) WARNING!!! My wife told me, we don't need a picture id, and sure enough, as we were leaving, they told us you gotta have a picture id, so she ran back to our cabin to get them! I stood there, waiting, watching at least a thousand passengers go by!:D

vince5251 Posted March 18, 2018 #29 Share Posted March 18, 2018 StellaRose - If you go to your local drivers' license bureau, you can purchase a photo id that is state issued just like a driver's license. We did that for each of our kids upon recommendation and always kept them with us. At the license bureau, I we took both the birth certificate and passport for each child, but I'm sure that you only needed the birth certificate. The cost was only about $10-15 each, but well worth it. The id looks just like what they would receive if they had a learner's permit (beginner driver's permit) issued. They were very young when we did, so I don't believe that the age is of concern - but each state might vary.
