sabbo55 Posted March 19, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 19, 2018 In looking at the land excursions offered by Azamara, it seems that the vast majority are early morning (8-9 am). Given that one of the good things about Azamara, is that the ships stay late in port, why are there so few afternoon tours? I’m sorry if this have been addressed before. Rare uktog Posted March 19, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 19, 2018 It is a very good question and one I have asked before. I was told that guest feedback was that for half day trips they wanted the excursions in the morning and then the opportunity to explore on their own later in the day. I believe the earlier start is so they can get guests back for lunch - again thats a thing they had feedback on that most guests wanted that opportunity rather than eat ashore... I can certainly understand that. I have been guilty of getting back to the ship for lunch too! But a 2 pm tour would be perfect, have lunch and get back for dinner. There are some afternoon departures on my upcoming cruises, hopefully that is a trend that will continue

I do not worry about the lunch part of the response. I often eat lunch off the ship rather than wasting time going back to the ship. This also gives you a chance to eat locally at a reasonable price as compared to what the cost would be if you ate dinner locally DON
