day 2 live on the Conquest

We are Platinum, but it didn't matter. We arrived around noon and board in 5 minutes. We never stooped walking except taking a picture of our passport. Walking up the ramp the couple next ti us commented on the fast boarding and they were not Platinum, very organized. Our cabin was ready, greeted our cabin steward and never asked about twice a day. We did get twice a day service. Went upstairs for lunch, even though the sandwiches are pre made, they still finish them in the oven. We had the Cuban and the special Pulled Pork and they were both excellent. Went back to the room and luggage was waiting at 1. The A/C in the room was freezing, had to turn down the thermostat. Another nice touch, the are motion sensored light under the closet which stay on for 10 seconds, great for night bathroom visit. The only negative is the bar was closed in the Serenity area, closest bar is deck nine. We moved to the adult aft pool, very nice. First night dinner in the Steakhouse was outstanding. My wife had the Sea Bass and I had the N.Y. Steak, cooked perfectly medium rare. The onion soup and the lobster bisque were excellent. We share a crab cake which also was delicious. How anyone can compare the Steakhouse to the MDR is beyond me. We slept through MDR breakfast and ate at the buffet. The omelette line was ridiculous and the cook moved like a snail. Usually the scrambled eggs on the buffet are terrible. Carnival must have made a serious change because these were real eggs, scrambled soft and the bacon crisp, very impressed.

The internet is still painfully slow and this could be easily resolved if they chose to upgrade the system. The TV channel change is also disappointing. Any questions?

Thank you for the live update, we board in less than 2 weeks and cannot wait. :D

I hear there is a 80's party in the nightclub but no real deck parties to speak of (other than Sail Away)- can you confirm if there are any special deck parties - white party, 80's attire, etc?

thank you

This is the last night for most cruisers we have another 8 days. I don't know how to do pictures, so no. The movies have been first run, but have not seen any, late dinner, then show and casino. The only real negative is the wifi, it sucks. At busy time fogetaboutit. Facebook seems the slowest to pull up fully. The MDR has been good, better on some nights. We ate at the Sea Food Shack one night, excellent. We had the lobster BLT once for lunch, very good. Dinner we shared a dozen oysters and shared a lobster roll. We prefer the old deli menu except the Cuban Sandwich which is very good but not pressed. No idea why they took away the panini presses and use an oven, weird and much slower. The new turkey sandwich is served with mustard, yuck. Asked for a regular bun, not pretzel, no mustard add mayo. He was not happy, too bad. They also serve the pastami with a tomato puree and sliced tomatoes, sacrilege. He could be shot in N.Y for this indiscretion. We asked for a plain pastrami on rye. Pizza is still very good as was the Blue Iguana. Anyone aboard tomorrow? Can't wait to have cell phone wifi for one day and catch up with my wifi.

Thank you for this report. I really like the deli but haven’t tried it since the change in the sandwich prep. I will definitely try it now and yes I wonder why they wouldn’t use a press. Have fun on the second half.

Loved the Conquest! The ac was so cold we had to turn it down most days, but that was fine with us! The light under the closet was a nice touch. Boarding was the best we have ever had, granddaughter had to get picture but ours was taken off the passports. This was the first time they took our sail card at the muster drill, no getting out of that anymore! I would do the Conquest again.

Hi Coevan, thanks for the updates! We'll be sailing on the Conquest soon, so really curious about the new deli menu. Do you know if smoked salmon on a bagel is still available? Thanks in advance!

I was on the last week of March and it is not on there anymore
