Need advice quickly, no time to research. RFS on Anthem

Recommended Posts

Congrats! I got an upsell a few years ago on Norwegian to an Owners suite from a balcony and I surprised my husband. It was so much fun! If he can handle surprises, I would totally wait.

He can handle surprises. The question is, can I keep my big fat mouth shut [emoji12]

I think DD might be even more excited than DH, once they find out. This switch means she gets a real bed, and not just a Pullman.

You can get a drink at the casino on your way to dinner, or just walk to the casino as soon as you order. It is just a few feet away.

Suite guests do not get vouchers.

Only Diamond, Diamond Plus and Pinnacle C&A members do.

Upgrade is definitely worth it. We were in the RFS on Anthem a few years ago.

At the time, concierge lounge was not busy because of its location. It is a long walk to get to it. The positive is that it is a really nice, pleasant space.

We had dynamic dinning and could book restaurants and times as we saw fit. Things have changed since then but if you have the option, switching from fixed dinning would give you more flexibility.

I am surprised that RFS is being changed. We were on the ship before the new suite classes were rolled out. At that time, we got the full VIP treatment including a personal escort during boarding where we bypassed even the security lines. I assumed on that basis that they would keep it at Star Class but Bob is a lot more knowledgeable than me on these matters.

You get to eat in Coastal Kitchen, have access to reserved seating for the shows, invites to special events etc. so definitely worth spending extra to upgrade.

The suite consists of a really nice bedroom and bathroom, a second bedroom which is like an inside cabin, a second bathroom and a large communal sitting room with a balcony. Believe me it is very comfortable.

Surprise them. Before the cruise. You know how excited you feel now, and how you get to feel that way day after day looking forward to it? Why deny them?

But if they will simply get over it 2 minutes after you tell them, or 2 minutes after they walk into the room if you waited, who cares when you tell them.

No.

There used to be Dynamic Dining, therefore no specific dining times for the ship.

They had to pick SOME times for cocktails.

They picked 5 to 8:30, and just stuck with it.

Good news for Anthem suite guests. Happy hour is now 4:30-8:30! It was pretty empty tonight but the waiter said night 1 is always empty and tomorrow I should expect a crowd.

1. That's great news about a 4 hour "happy hour".

2. That's ridiculous. Night 1 is usually a total zoo, and then gets better as the cruise goes on!

I agree on both points!

Just finishing Day 5 of our 7 day cruise and I can't believe I even hesitated long enough to ask on cc whether this upgrade was a good move. Suite life is amazing!

Glad you are enjoying it. Now it will be hard to go less than a gs.

Hi!

So sorry, I am new to this and was doing some research! Thinking of booking a Caribbean Cruise on the Anthem to Bermuda and the Caribbean. I saw ( I think) that you stayed in cabin 12688 before? Is this so? If yes - what was it like? Is the balcony slightly larger?

Thanks! :)
