I sailed on my first Carnival cruise on the Mardi Gras in 1990. Amazing how things have changed. I'd love to see more photographs of her.

Another fun fact is she was designed to cross the North Atlantic in winter which has some of the roughest seas on earth. Thanks for the memory. :)

Just gotta say! You had to be there to get it!!! Things have changed so much, but I wouldn't change a thing! The old days were FABULOUS. Today's sailing is modern. I still cruise for the magic of the sea. Enjoy All!

I've posted these before, but always enjoy looking at the older pictures from the Mardi Gras. These are from our cruise on her in 1984.

 

Skeet Shooting off the stern...

 

My wife's nightgown (the stewards used to lay out my wife's nightgown for her...along with a rose). Some of them would go so far as to shape the nightgown into a flower (this was prior to the towel animals). I'm sure most women would highly object to this practice today.

Lastly, me and my VERY beautiful wife during the cruise. We were celebrating our 5 year anniversary during this cruise. We'll hit 39 years this August. :)
