Whay is WiFi Calling

I see quit a few posts about calling home and/or asking about WiFi calling.

Here is a youtube video about what it is and how to make it work on your phone.

 

1. Here are a couple of basic rules to follow though for cruising.

Set your phone up at home and make sure it works first (Plus you have to set it up for wifi calling before you start due to some 911 emergency issues.)

 

2. Put your phone in Airplane Mode when you board the ship. A. This keeps the phone from switching over to Cellular if the wifi signal goes bad. B. After putting phone into Airplane Mode, you may need to turn on the WiFi button again.

 

3. Goes without saying that you must purchase a WiFi package on the ship to connect to WiFi. Or hack into the ship wifi network to connect.
