PRINCESSTHE BEST Posted April 9, 2018 #26 Share Posted April 9, 2018 Threads morph, happens all the time. There's nowt wrong with that. OK,so the wind got up, the lines broke, the tugs came to our rescue and we sailed away into the sunset. What more would you like to say on the subject? Oh yes there is.... Also disrupting to the Community is Thread hijacking which is the act of trying to steer a forum discussion thread off topic by discussing a subject entirely unrelated to the original topic. This would also include making references to the original poster, or even to OTHER posters, that have nothing to do with the subject at hand. tom_uk Posted July 8, 2018 #28 Share Posted July 8, 2018 https://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/wind-load-d_1775.html technical explanation here Interesting. So the force on the ship increases geometrically as the windspeed increases; i.e. double the wind speed means 4 times the total pressure.
