Ian21 Posted April 9, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 9, 2018 We have booked a private 2 day tour when in St Petersburg in August. The itinerary includes a visit to a Farmer’s Market. Is this worth spending time doing - is it more than just seeing some fruit and veg? I notice almost all companies include this in their itinerary so I assume people think it is worthwhile. Thoughts? CruiserBruce Posted April 9, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 9, 2018 "Worth it" is a judgement call only you can make, based on your interests. It is a shopping opportunity, but also a look at the locals in action, what their life looks like. We walk through farmer's markets in our own country from time to time, as well as other countries. Being married to a farmer's daughter is an incentive. If your tour is private, you can decline if you wish, and they will alter the schedule. Sent from my iPhone using Forums The Kuznechny Market is most probably the market that you will visit as this is the market that group tours usually frequent. As poster earlier, "worthwhile" is subject. I do not find it interesting - I find it rather drab and depressing and the prices are quite high. I much prefer the markets in the Med.
