**Live** Grandure of the Seas 4/14/18

Recommended Posts

Had a nice dinner this evening. The sugar-free dessert was excellent. If it didn't say sugar-free I would have never believed it.

YES! Some of them are amazing, like the sugar free key lime desserts.

We'll be on Grandeur next week, my fifth cruise with her. She is our favorite for a few reasons.

Yeah, that was supposed to be a picture of my speedtest. I have no idea why it didn't post properly. I'll work on it.

But I have found the internet connection to be very strong. I easily streamed several TV shows last night with no problem.

Are you on this cruise too?

Just back to room after day in St Thomas. Went shopping. Ate at a nice Italian restaurant with really good pizza. Going to try to post some pictures.

Only bad part was the driver on the way there and open-air bus only took us to the middle of town. Wanted to go to the straw Market and spend my money to locals. He's like "its only a few blocks over". Everybody we asked along the way was like oh it's just a few blocks over. I don't think they understand people with mobility issues there's a difference between two blocks and five or six blocks. Mom never did make it to the straw Market. I ran through it while she was at the restaurant. I think it's about a quarter of the size it used to be.

I highly recommend taking a taxi if you're going to town from the ship. It's the same price per person. And the taxi driver on the way back put Mom in the front seat and blasted the AC.

The show last night was the best of the cruise thus far. Maybe they've been doing this number longer or something, but it seemed really different. Bravo.

Today was in St Lucia. We had a cab take us to a beach about 6 miles away, think it was called Dickenson Beach. It's crazy, once there I realized I had been there before. I spent one spring break of college in Antigua for a week. It was at a resort right where we went today. That's some pretty big odds.

The sand was so soft we didn't even put on our water shoes. The water took a little bit of time for us to get used to, just a little bit cold, but once you get in it was very nice. Because the sand was so soft and fluffy the water wasn't really that clear. Given the choice of soft sand with not that clear water or rocky beach with clear water I'll take the soft sand.

Sorry didn't have my phone with me to take any pictures today.

We stayed in the water about 45 minutes and then got out went to a tiny little place there on the beach and a had rum punch with pineapple juice. We were worried because they didn't have any Malibu Rum which is what we like, but the local stuff he had was better.

I forgot to mention, the cabbie asked what time we will be going back and was to pick us up. He didn't even take any money on the way over. We got where we were supposed to meet back with him about 5 minutes early and he was there. He actually never left. We only spent an hour-and-a-half there. But we had fun. Nice time in the water, no sunburn, and a nice rum punch drink overlooking turquoise water.

On the way back we were dropped off not far from the boat but there was a casino between us and the boat so of course we had to walk through. Lost $10 in the slots, but we hit a couple little wins so it took awhile to loose the money. We had fun spending our money.

Came back on the ship and had lunch in Windjammers. I ended up getting two plates of salad because I was hungry. Mom had steamed and roasted vegetables and some schnitzel. She had some chocolate bar dessert and said it was really good. It was nice sitting in Windjammers looking back at Antigua. I do like on Royal Caribbean there are multiple staff walking around who will give you drinks. Not mixed drinks or anyting, but I'm sure you could get them just as easily. They have water, flavored water, lemonade and tea. A dirty plate never sits on your table long before it's picked up. Windjammers is pretty nice.

If I had a realized how late it was as we were eating lunch I wouldn't have had that second plate of salad. We finished lunch about two and a half hours before it's time for our dinner seating.

I sat down up at the pool for a while while mom came back to the room to shower and relax. Right this minute I'm in the room having showered and relaxing doing this update.

I will really try to get some pictures, I promise. Maybe I'll take my phone with me to dinner tonight [emoji41].

That's what I was trying to do, using my usual website, but for some reason it wasn't working.

Bob handled it for me. That's my photo.

(Yes, I'm on board :) )
