Any US account denominated in USD will show the charges in USD, regardless of where/what currency was charged.
ulcards99 Posted April 18, 2018 Author #6 Share Posted April 18, 2018 Any US account denominated in USD will show the charges in USD, regardless of where/what currency was charged. With some foreign transaction fees included, unless you have a card that does not have any. :)
Brewster Posted April 18, 2018 #7 Share Posted April 18, 2018 Just as a further tip, if you have extra Euros in your pocket at the end of your cruise, you can still pay your final bill down with them (Guest Services will use a comparable current currency rate for the transaction). I did this in my July 2017 Med cruise.
skiiergirl Posted April 18, 2018 #8 Share Posted April 18, 2018 US $. Also, if sailing out of Rome (and maybe other ports) there is a government imposed VAT charge on all shipboard purchases included specialty dining. So something to think about when considering waiting to buy onboard or book in advance,

So something to think about when considering waiting to buy onboard or book in advance, And the dreaded Spanish VAT! To have a cruise excluded from the VAT imposed by Spain and Italy the cruise needs to visit just one non-EU port. This can be Gibraltar or the Canary Islands, or Montenegro.....
