Port Canaveral - New Terminal #3 coming

Demolition of the old terminal #3 began on 4/27/18 in preparation for a new terminal that will be capable of handling the largest ships, 6000 passengers, and an 1800 vehicle garage. Completion is anticipated toward the end of 2019 or early 2020.

The Port Authority has not announced which cruise line(s) will be using the new terminal.

The existing terminal is currently used by the Victory Casino ship; no word on where they might relocate.

I'm wondering if it might be for Disney. They have outgrown their existing terminal, which was designed for ships in the ~2500 passenger range (Magic and Wonder) and gets very crowded when the 4000 passenger Dream or Fantasy are boarding. And they now have three more ships in the 4000 range on order, due in 2021, 2022 and 2023.

Could very well be. Carnival paid for their terminal years ago and the Royal the last terminal. I can’t see anyone else that invested in this port.

Hope they saved the round buildings. Those were originally pavilions for Third Century America at KSC in 1976!!

Nope. Local media showed them being destroyed by big mechanized jaws. :(

I will be sailing on the Harmony in September 2019....Does Royal Caribbean go out of Terminal 3? If so, i think i am going to cancel the cruise if it does...as i dont feel like coming into construction when i go down there.... would appreciate an answer...

Royal has part ownership of the newest and largest terminal #1 ... this is their primary and the terminal OASIS operates from now. I'm pretty sure HARMONY will take over the 'spot' OASIS occupies in the schedule today ...

 

T-3 was only used for 'visiting ships' the last several years altho this DID sometimes include RCCL on days T-1 was occupied

the port announcement about the new terminal/tenant said the new terminal was being built to accommodate ships that would otherwise only fit at T-1 ...... what ever that means
