O2B@Cagain Posted May 5, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 5, 2018 Most of the catamarans, because they hold large numbers of people, are booked through ship's excursions. Would you be happy with a smaller boat?
ABQrobin Posted May 5, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 5, 2018 We did the fastcat turtle snorkel through the ship last year. Really nice catamaran boat, snorkeling with turtles just okay, then beach afterwards for 1+ hours, back to port. Good half day excursion. when you get off at the beach, you have to walk in chest deep water to shore, same on way back. There was plenty of rum punch flowing though, so most people didn't care. Food was for sale on shore. robin
beauty1492 Posted May 7, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 7, 2018 I love smaller boats but these old legs don't! Last time there a like a little thin ladder and it was hard for me to get up and down. So now I look for Cats cause they are so easy to get on and off.

It has been super hard to find any non cruise ship afternoon cruises to see turtles. We will be there October 1st. Thanks for your reply.
ABQrobin Posted May 10, 2018 #7 Share Posted May 10, 2018 They had 2 catamarans and I would guess about 25 people each. It really never felt crowded, but once we got to the beach, the Tiki boat was already there, and they had at least 50 more. If you want to buy food at the beach, there is a little shack, cash only. Nerkbuck Posted July 19, 2018 #8 Share Posted July 19, 2018 We used Jester Sailing and went to Christmas Cove on a private sailing. Awesome time and there were only three other boats at Christmas Cove. We saw plenty of fish and turtles. I highly recommend them. http://www.sailjester.com/ Sorry, it is a sailboat instead of a catamaran.
beauty1492 Posted July 19, 2018 #9 Share Posted July 19, 2018 looks amazing was it a private sail or with a group? Is he the one that has the dog on the boat?

Ms411 Posted August 30, 2018 #11 Share Posted August 30, 2018 Sometimes those weight restrictions are based on maximum/minimum sizes of their life jackets. Sometimes it's because of capacity of the vessel.
