rubinstein2r Posted May 3, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 3, 2018 I know this ship was recently renovated. What is the difference between the French Balcony and Deluxe French Balcony rooms? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rare gnome12 Posted May 4, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 4, 2018 Since they are the same size I assume it is just the deck; deluxe French balcony is on Rhine deck (upper) and French balcony is one level down. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Caligirl58 Posted June 26, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 26, 2018 Gnome - I think you are correct. We are booking this cruise for 2019 and are also wondering about the difference between the Deluxe and the standard French Balcony rooms. Is being on an upper deck worth the price difference? We have only been on one river cruise - Uniworld Castles Along the Rhine last summer. We had a standard French Balcony room then, and it was fine. But we had nothing to compare it to. Trying to decide whether to pay the extra for the Deluxe next time. We looked at photos on the Uniworld website, but the angle of the photos makes it difficult to compare. So would appreciate any advice!
acwmom Posted June 26, 2018 #4 Share Posted June 26, 2018 I actually prefer the middle deck. The noise of dropping rails/etc while going under bridges in the middle of the night is terribly loud overhead. I agree location is the only difference. Caligirl58 Posted June 26, 2018 #5 Share Posted June 26, 2018 Thank you, Robin. We never even thought about the noise factor.
