Megan_Strick Posted May 9, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 9, 2018 I've never seen this addressed. Are they bad there?

kona_wahine Posted May 9, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 9, 2018 That is a different situation than on ship. I think everyone claims their chair for the day, then goes off to the water, lunch, shopping, etc. back and forth. I think. That’s to be expected. beachbum53 Posted May 9, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 9, 2018 Chair hogs at HMC? I think, if you take the time to look at the videos of HMC posted on Youtube, you'll quickly realize that it would be pointless. All of the lounge chairs are facing the ocean. The sunshine in front of Cabana #1 is exactly the same as it is in front of Cabana #15. Some lounge chairs may be more preferable than others due to their location (close to the Pirate Ship bar, in the shade, close to the pathway that leads to the restrooms, etc.), so if you're hoping to get a chair (or chairs) in a particular location on the beach, try to be among the earlybirds heading over. BlazinSunsets Posted May 9, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 9, 2018 Too many chairs there. Granted it will take you a while to walk down the beach further but keep walking and there will be areas where there are not very many people and still tons of chairs. beachbum53 Posted May 9, 2018 #6 Share Posted May 9, 2018 Too many chairs there. Granted it will take you a while to walk down the beach further but keep walking and there will be areas where there are not very many people and still tons of chairs. The beach area out in front Cabanas 1 through 6 tend to get the most crowded, since that's about as far as most people want to walk, and it's close to the Pirate Bar. If you want to get away from the crowd and don't need to be within a few yards of the bar, walk or take the trolley down towards Cabana #15 (the last cabana on the beach). Anywhere between #10 - #15 is a good area with plenty of available chairs. The restrooms are behind Cabana # 10 & #11.

BallFour4 Posted May 9, 2018 #9 Share Posted May 9, 2018 The only hogs we encountered were float hogs. They took our floats from the cabana we rented while we took a walk to look around. I took them back. .
