Horizon Elevators

These elevator systems are not to make it easier or faster for the passenger. They are to save energy for the owner. The Kone, Otis, and Schindler designs all assume the majority of the up traffic will originate from the ground floor. Most of the traffic on upper floors will be going to the ground floor. Only maids and mailmen go from floor to floor. On a ship, people are going everywhere all the time. I had no problems with it on Horizon, but there were plenty of people baffled by touch screen call board. The other problem was people crowding into a car as soon as the door opened before those inside could alight. Children you can understand, but 50 year old grandpa's with a ponytail should have more sense about them.

That’s nothing new. It happens on the old elevators as well.
