Tell me about the Miracle. Thoughts, Tips

I booked a western Caribbean for January to tag along with a group for a birthday. Book the very unique, very large balcony on deck 7 that a lot of people rant and rave about.

I’m a little concerned about the age and weird setup of the decks on the ship. I like the glory and the liberty with the traditional deck 5 where everything is. Now everything is way down on deck 2 and 3.

Thoughts? Tips would be appreciated...

I was in that cabin, or maybe the equivalent one on deck 6 for the Miracle’s first Panama Canal transit from NYC to Long Beach waaay back in 2013. 15 days of fun! We also had that cabin for an 8 day Southern Caribbean. I have been on both the Miracle and her sister the Spirit (before she sailed down under) and these remain my favorite ships. Smaller, but great open spaces where you could get in a heated game of Yahtzee with your travel companions. And that deck is the best! My brother actually had the one next to it, so we opened the balcony connector for one super balcony that had a total of 4 chaises, 4 chairs and two side tables! Good times! Have fun!

I love that class of ship. I've been on the Miracle and the Legend (back when it sailed out of Tampa). I love the fact that there's a pool on the Serenity deck. Another plus is that you can walk all the way from front to back on every deck - not like other ships where there's a 'you can't get there from here' deck and you have to go up a deck, walk to another staircase and go back down to the other deck (usually because of the galley). I'm not a fan of the huge mega-ships, the Miracle is just about the perfect size for me. That, plus I love the Western itinerary - and it's an easy 2.5 hour drive for us! We had a great time and would book again.

Great! Thanks I like that you can access front to back on any floor! This always gets confusing on the other ships such as the splendor.

I’m soooo looking forward to the huge balcony. Might be a hangout for everyone that is going with us (might get annoying lol)

First time on Miracle was April 14 Panama Canal. Absolutely loved her! The decor is so much nicer to me, loved the Gatsby's Garden on deck 3 that goes all around the forward interior. When you first go in the area, there are tables for 2 by each porthole and ceiling fans down the corridor. Very cozy feeling. We were in a balcony cabin deck 4 aft. Nice cabin, great location to us. Walk around corner to elevators, go down 2 decks to restaurant, after dinner, walk on down the promenade to the casino. Everything is close by. There are plenty of little seating areas all along the way. The casino was nice, enjoyed the red frog pub and the atrium bar. Everything we enjoyed was on that deck. Took a little getting used to, it is a different layout, but very nice.

The food was good, we had a group of 8 and had 6pm dining ( which turned out to be 5:30). Service was fair, but it is a large dining room.it was a bit noisy because of that. Did the steakhouse one evening,it didn't disappoint. Great service, great food. Lido most days for breakfast and lunch,it was good as well, there were 2 omelette stations so enjoyed not having to stand in line so much. Our room steward Gundawan and his team did a great job. The air conditioning was cold. There is a slight vibration for some reason, but not enough to bother. We didn't do any of the typical lido activities, getting too old for all that.

All in all, my favorite ship out of 20 cruises. Loved it so much, I booked the western Caribbean cruise for the end of August. Hope this was helpful.

The Miracle is showing her age a bit but still a great ship. Layout is awesome in my mind and like the other poster stated the serenity area with pool is great. Below is a link to some of my pics from room 6232 right below yours which should be 7258. Wonderful balcony i have had it three times on the Miracle and again this November room 7258.

Our March 24th Miracle cruise was our 32nd Carnival cruise and #45 total. First time on the Miracle and loved it! So easy to navigate and it was in excellent shape. We ate in the Steakhouse twice and the food was delicious and the service was excellent. We had a French Door cabin mid-ship on Deck 4 and loved it. Cabin steward was great, as was our YTD wait staff. We requested the same table every night. I spend most of my time in the casino when it's open and the arrangement was wonderful and not crowded like on some ships. We would definitely sail on the Miracle again. We live 45 minutes from the Port of Tampa, so very convenient.

I had 7258 on the 14apr Panama canal cruise. Fantastic!!!!! Slept on the lounge chairs often. Can't beat it!

LOVE the layout of the ship. spent a lot of time on the lido and there was always space to sit. gatsbys garden is a fantastic place to sit and read and watch the sea. If Rupert is still handling that cabin, you'll never have a complaint. He's great!

Gede in the ,MDR and his staff were fantastic but I think his contract was almost up.

Don't want to upset anyone, but we disagree with most here.

The Miracle and this class is our least favorite, we just don't like the layout!

We've taken 4 cruises out of Tampa, and have chosen the Paradise ocean view 3 times over the Miracle balcony (once dk 7)!

We don't like the 1 MDR, the food and service was the worst we've gotten on a Carnival ship! We actually ate most of our meals in the buffet, which had good food and a nice layout!

Also there was a vibration you can feel in the rear half of this ship, some have said they didn't feel it, gotta think they were doing some drinking not to feel it, cause even an old sailor like me noticed it!-))

We also thought the idea of balconies with doors that don't open (much) on deck 4, and obstructed balconies on deck 5 as strange! Why it matters, the good balconies are more expensive!-((

No 'dine in' movies on the Miracle either!-((

We did feel the Miracle's overall condition was very good!

We've seen the Legend, which is this class, will be coming to Tampa next fall, and will have Guy's burgers among a few other upgrades that the Miracle doesn't have! If they drop Belize, maybe we'll give it a shot!

We were on this same sailing. Loved every minute. I had only been on Conquest class ships before but got used to the Miracle on day 1. We had a port balcony on deck 7 almost to the back. Go up and Lido food was right there, go down and dining room was right there. (And Alchemy bar too). We ate breakfast in MDR almost every day because the brunch on sea days extends to 1pm and there were a lot of sea days. Agree on steakhouse - most unique one so far and I loved the food.

We also did the Chef's Table one night and was incredible.

We had better luck in the MDR - we must have been right where they start serving. We were out by 7:00 every night and sometimes earlier (we had to rush one night as we had Dreams studio portraits booked and wanted to get the sunset lighting. Still got dessert and made it out in plenty of time). I noticed other tables were only getting their main courses as we were leaving some nights. The 5:30 thing threw me at first as it was earlier than we are used to eating but we got used to it. If you get Victor and his team tell him the guy in the Kilt said "howdy".

Since we live right about halfway between Port Canaveral and Tampa I can imagine us getting some more cruises in on the Miracle and that is just fine with me.

Ha, Rupert was our guy too. Might be the best steward yet. Such a friendly guy and he has his team cranking too. We never wanted for anything.
