Star obstructed ocean view accessible

Looking for pictures of cabins on deck 8.

These are obstructed ocean view accessible cabins near OSheehans.

Cabin 8122 or 8626

How much of the view is obstructed?

Don't have the answer to that one, but I will tell you the location is wonderful. We were on deck 8 last week but way forward. We wished we could have been close to where you will be. Everything is located around the mid part of the ship, O'Sheelan's is right there as you mentioned, so lets hope you view isn't to obstructed.

We were in a similar one on the Gem. It was obstructed by a lifeboat and occasionally crew would be working out there but the location right down from O’Sheehan’s was perfect. DH could pop down to get a drink or wings to his heart’s desire. Come to think of it, me too ;)

We have had the OK cabins (obstructed oceanview) a few times and found them fine. Doesn't matter how obstructed as long as we can see a bit of sea, land and more important the sky. It's the lowest priced of the oceanview category and being on deck 8, better than decks 4 or 5 ... and the inside cabins.

The OK cabins are available on the 4 Jewel class ships, Dawn, Star and the Pride of America (deck 7).

The Obstructed Oceanview on the Star, Jewel & Gem with the Accessible designations might be numbered a little different, there are a total of 8, 4 on each side of the side ... just ahead of the AFT elevators & stairs, behind O'Sheehans.

Our SIL's and BIL did a last minute booking a week before sailing and was given one of these on the Gem (pictures via this link) - which they didn't requested nor need, although one do have minor mobility issues. It is very similiar, if not identical to the ones on the Jewel - and, we had one on the Star back in 2008 ...

8*22 and 8*26 and right next to each other, Star's 8626 is virtualy at the same location as 8100 on the Gem - the un-obstructed view thru the large picture window is better than 8*22 - where there's a little more of the lifeboat & swinging arm/crane to limited the vertical view to either direction. Otherwise, it's basically the bottom 1/3 being blocked by the lifeboat, you really don't see the outside walkway where crews in white overall come by to inspect the systems, do maintenance & power wash salt water sprays, etc.

Got it - Jewel's #8096 (from 2011) -

If the itinerary involved tendering in ports, lifeboats on starboard side usually are launched ... sometimes, also for safety training rotations with drills for the crew ... expect to hear a little noise, it's all good during the day unless you are sleeping in & not getting out of the stateroom.

You really don't hear any noises coming from OSH or the atrium lobby staying in these 8 staterooms. The "regular" Obstructed Sideways in front of the Midship Elevators & Escalators might get some party noises coming from below in the evening - typically, quiet down after 10 or 11 PM.
