Seaside Baby care - dropoff

Good Morning

I know a lot of changes have been happening on Seaside as they make adjustments for out market.

Back in January, last I heard was they only had a few short windows of actual drop-off baby care (under 2 or 3) that were like 11-1 and 5-7.

Does anybody who has recently been on-board know if this has been changed to be a bit more flexible for Mom and Dad to get some baby free time to enjoy things like the casino and spa?

If you plan to travel with your baby, then adjustments of your plans and expectations should be part of your cruise planning.

Yes, I have been there, done that, and many "adult" entertainments will have to be curtailed or put on hold for further cruises.

Only two posts before the judgement started, is that some sort of record?

I saw the post you are referring to, and it made me sad that the person went that route, rather than trying to offer some guidance, which is what many of us come here for.

To the OP, we have not sailed MSC with a baby, our daughter was 6 1/2 on her first MSC cruise. However, we have sailed both Royal and Celebrity with her since she was about 15 months old. My best suggestion is to go prepared to make use of the baby center during whatever limited hours it is available, so you can get some adult time. You could also divide and conquer, which we have done and still do - taking turns doing "me time" at the spa, gym, wherever. I would also look into whether in-cabin babysitting is available. I'm not sure whether MSC offers that, but we used the service several times on Celebrity, with great success.

If possible, I might also suggest seeing whether any family or friends would like to join you. While we clearly survived our first cruise with DD at 15 months, the subsequent ones were took with her were a bit easier, as we traveled with family who pitched in when we needed. They didn't watch DD so we could have alone time, but it was definitely helpful to have the extra sets of hands at the pool, dinner, on excursions, etc.

We got off two weeks ago. From my recollection, it was split by sea days and port days. We utilized it quite a bit and they are super awesome with the kids. You just bring some diapers and wipes. They will only change them if they are stinky, if you get what I am saying. They also provide you with a ship phone to call you in the event the child is needing you or acting up. They only called us once and by time we got there, our child was fine. Our child was 2-1/2 and enjoyed it. It was full of baby/toddler toys and had movies on. Our child had their face painted with a dry paint every time we picked up.

Sea Days: 11-1, 5-8

Port Days: 10:30-12:30, 5:30-8:30

Baby time is typically an hour before and an hour after baby care ends. Baby time is where the babies play with the parents present.

No judgement, statement of fact. Unfortunately, many new parents don't consider the impact that cruising with children will have on their experience.

I loved cruising with my daughter (started when she was 18 months old) and wouldn't have done it any other way.

Your statement of fact did not provide an answer to the post. We have sailed Royal with our daughter at 11 months old, it was on Royal and they had drop-off sitting, we only used it a few times for short amounts of time as she was young. So we are well aware of your "STATEMENT OF FACT" but as our question was not regarding cruising with a young child but rather to the hours of the childcare facilities for planning this trip your "STATEMENT OF FACT" is unneeded and quite frankly, snarky.

To everyone else who commented in a helpful positive way, thank you for the feedback. Your the people that keep me forum and make putting up with unneeded comments.

Happy Cruising!
