On board “next cruise”

Recommended Posts

currently on board and was going to book our next cruise. However, it seems we can get a better deal by booking on royal ourselves. Has anyone else had this happen? We have used next cruise once before and we were a lemon to get a great deal. This time, not so much. Thoughts?

My experience is they have certain itineraries that they are promoting where good deals can be had.

We were however on Oasis a couple of years ago and as we are UK based we looked at some Southampton cruises at Next Cruise. They couldn't match the UK website price, which really surprised me, and they couldn't offer the usual OBC.

Currently on serenade In The Baltic and they are really pushing the Alaska cruises. I’ve heard of that before, that sometimes ya just wont get a good deal at next cruise. Thanks!

Book with Next Cruise for the OBC then call and get whatever deal you see online. I believe even with the non-refundable deposit, you get 30 days to change it without penalty.

We booked this on our last cruise and the only deal we "got" was that we paid a $50 deposit and then got a $50 OBC for the cruise we were on, in addition to the OBC we got on our upcoming cruise. Then we just kept moving the booking to whatever cruise we could actually go on if plans changed.

Can’t do that now unless you book a refundable deposit. Or else you pay 100 pp each time you move it.

Nor can you spend the OBC on the current cruise any more.

While onboard Adventure last week, we booked a cruise to Cuba for next September. Yes, we have 30 days to change our nonrefundable booking with no penalty. The best part of our Next Cruise visit was when we asked them to price the TA we have booked for next November. It was $660 cheaper!! The agent sent us to Guest Services where they called RCL for us. In about 5 minutes we had our cruise repriced and saved $660. Might as well look for another one to book:D
