mauimary Posted June 7, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 7, 2018 Has anyone been to Auckland recently and organized a day excursion from your Roll Call or participated in one organized by someone else. Which company did you use? Did the company allow each person to pay separately at time of your tour? Or were there arrangements made to pay separately to a website. Thank you in advance. hvbaskey Posted June 8, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 8, 2018 We have an upcoming cruise in December that includes Auckland. Roll call for that itinerary is very quiet at the moment. I have been reserving tour spots for Auckland and other ports of call on my own. Some require pre-payment, some are cash day of. We know what we want to do, so want to grab spots while we can - especially since it is their Summer when we will be visiting. Heather
laurieb Posted June 9, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 9, 2018 I highly recommend Time Unlimited for touring Auckland. We toured with them in 2015 and will be again in Feb 2019. You can pay directly with them through their website https://www.newzealandtours.travel/en-gb/auckland-tours/welcome Your travel agent can also book it for you through Down Under Answers. mauimary Posted June 9, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted June 9, 2018 Thank you Laurieb for your response. I actually looked at them and contacted them a few days ago. They look wonderful but pricey. I don’t think anyone from our Roll Call Group would be willing to spend the $375 per adult for the day. I know it’s NZD but comes out to apx $265 USD. That’s quite a lot for a group tour. mauimary Posted June 9, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted June 9, 2018 After doing some research I contacted Milestone Tours and received a very fair quote for a six hour tour. We ended up booking with them. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
laurieb Posted June 9, 2018 #6 Share Posted June 9, 2018 We're not paying nearly that much; had you requested private?
mauimary Posted June 10, 2018 Author #7 Share Posted June 10, 2018 Laurie....I did ask them about a full day private tour for 6-8 passengers and that is what they came back with. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
laurieb Posted June 10, 2018 #8 Share Posted June 10, 2018 That must be the reason for the high rate then; I did not request private for my group of 6 as their vans only hold 9 passengers anyway. When we went with them in 2015, there were only four of us in the van.
mauimary Posted June 13, 2018 Author #9 Share Posted June 13, 2018 Laurie I had to ask for a private group as we are only in port from 10-1800 and it would be harder to mix us with a group who are not watching the clock like we would be.
