sellwingri Posted June 17, 2018 #177 Share Posted June 17, 2018 Royal Caribbean used to let only one person in the cabin purchase the drink package but changed back about a year ago. They keep going back and forth.
Cruise2getaway Posted June 19, 2018 #178 Share Posted June 19, 2018 I knew I was forgetting to ask you something and you just posted the answer to the question. We will definitely be stopping by to see Jose. With the new policy, both wife and I have the deluxe package. I don’t drink as much as her and would be fine with the free Diamond drinks. We were on Vision a couple months ago and some bar tenders were allowing guests to purchase the deluxe package without requiring others in the same cabin to buy it. Did you see or hear this happening on Explorer? Call and ask if you booked through Royal. I did and we did not have to buy the same package. We both did buy packages but ones that suited our tastes. We both did buy packages but ones that suited our tastes. I’m confused by your post. You can only buy drink packages through Royal Caribbean. What different packages did you buy? There are basically only 2 - booze or no booze. If they let you buy one of each, you’re lucky. I know that if one buys the liquor package, all those in the cabin must also buy it. The rule changed within the last year.

If you call Royal they will sell you one alcohol pkg and non-alcohol packages for the other non drinking adults in the cabin. Some have had luck canceling the non-alcohol pkg after it shows up on their cruise calendar.

Some have had luck canceling the non-alcohol pkg after it shows up on their cruise calendar. They wouldn’t let us do that. I’m diamond plus and drink for free in the casino but am sailing for the first time with a friend who’s only on her second cruise and doesn’t gamble. We both bought the alcohol package. I’ll follow up with them. I was also confused by the OP question about buying from someone outside of Royal Caribbean.
Rare SteelCityCruiser10 Posted June 20, 2018 Author #183 Share Posted June 20, 2018 Wilson is suggesting that you call Royal and explain your situation -that you want the deluxe package but your roommate does not, but would like the refreshment package instead. they will sometimes come off of the “policy” that forces both to have the same exact drink package. Biker19 Posted June 20, 2018 #184 Share Posted June 20, 2018 They wouldn’t let us do that. I'm sure you've seen this posted before - call back and talk to someone else, you'll get a different answer.

CathyCowboyUp Posted July 20, 2018 #186 Share Posted July 20, 2018 That’s good. I think we are directly under it! We are on deck 12 on August 31. Have you gone yet? What did you think of your cabin?
Wilson Posted July 20, 2018 #187 Share Posted July 20, 2018 We are on deck 12 on August 31. Have you gone yet? What did you think of your cabin? Absolutely loved it! I was worried we would miss the balcony. Nope. Great views from the comfort of your bed and not subjected to cold and/or rain.
