restaurant owner here, unless you are talking about fast food or Golden Corral, you are very wrong. There is no good way to hold any fried food, fresh out of the fryer is the only way to serve. We cook everything to order.

 

 

 

By average restaurant, I meant busy chain restaurants. I know that it is not done that way everywhere. I was just implying that it is fine to do so when you are serving massive quantities.

I asked for no mustard on a sandwich on the Magic in January. I was told no. It shocked me a little. They flat out refused so no deli for us on that trip.

Your only the customer so why should they put mustard on sandwich if you want it. Wonder how many ships will make something a bit special.

Couldn’t they premake the sandwiches and then add condiments when ordered? Bread would not get soggy, less waste, customer gets how they like it, Carnival still has the efficiency of a 90% complete sandwich. That said there are items on the new deli menu that look appealing and I’m not anti-all change so I’ll give it a try on my next cruise. If the waits not too long and I like the taste, good by me.

I said I was allergic to cheese and they gladly omitted it. I had several Turkey sandwiches, no mustard, add mayo, no problem. You should have insisted or talked to a supervisor. As I said in a previous post, most people are afraid to complain.

No disrespect....but what does being "Diamond" have anything to do with it??:confused:

 

Just that we have cruised a bunch with Carnival and have enjoyed the deli and come to expect certain things and when they make changes to lessen the experience we have the right to complain as we feel appropriate.

 

Do not expect anything on lido or dining room for being Diamond.
