Passports on ports of call

Recommended Posts

I'm in the same boat (no pun intended) as Len. If we are ever unfortunate enough to miss the ship, it would be a heck of a lot easier to catch up with it at a later port if we have valid travel documents. And from all the stories I've heard about major mishaps, the most significant factor in how long people were stranded was whether or not they had their passports with them.

I have a great Tank Top that has a zip pocket in the front. It holds and hides my passport and I feel quite confident carrying it around with me.

Leaving your passport in a place that might get fairly sweaty (maybe not in the Baltics but who knows) is not a great idea. They are starting to get really picky about your passport being in good condition; a couple of years ago there was a woman who wasn't allowed to fly because of the condition of her passport. It happened here in Canada, but I doubt that we are unique in this matter.
