Star Class on Anthem

Recommended Posts

Hello all. We just got off of the Anthem (6/14/18 sailing) and it was great! It was our first sailing on this ship and we loved it. We sailed Star class for the first time also and loved it as well. If you have any questions about Star class on the Anthem, please feel free to ask away.[emoji4] I’ll do my best to answer.

We are in Star on Anthem in Sept. Who was your genie? Was there a chef's table and was there a charge (on Oasis it was $25)? Will they book North Star, Ifly, and Escape room for you? We are hoping for North Star on embarkation day so we can look at all the New York sites we can see. How were the speciality restaurants and was there one you particulary liked, did you try Wonderland and how was it? We were in Star Class the last 2 years on Oasis and are really wondering if it would be the same on Anthem. Any other tips you can give us would be wonderful. If you are like us we will always be in Star Class when available, a true vacation. So glad you enjoyed your time.

Jay was our genie. We were in cabin 10270. Absolutely loved him!!! He tries to get everything you request and he’s always available for any questions.[emoji4] No, I don’t know the names of the other genies.

Jay was our genie. He is awesome too!!

Yes, there is a Chef’s Table (it’s in a room in the back of Chops). There wasn’t a charge.

Yes, they will book North Star, iFly and Escape Room. We just told Jay which day we wanted for North Star and he made it happen. We also asked if he could book an over the water cabana, and he did so without any issues.

We ate at all the specialty restaurants (Chops, Chef’s Table, Wonderland, Jaime’s, Coastal Kitchen and Izumi’s). No charge for any of them. We liked Chef’s Table the best and Izumi’s the least. Wonderland was our second favorite.

All drinks are included including Starbucks. If a drink or food charge appeared on our folio, Jay removed it. He monitored our account daily and removed charges that he felt shouldn’t be on there.

If you have to make any changes, he was very accommodating. He gave us his number to call him anytime so if we forgot anything on our schedule, we used one of the phones on the ship to call him and he always answered.

He will reserve your seats at the shows. He asks which seats you want, then he reserves them by placing a Star class banner over them. We love kombucha every day and asked if he could have them in our cabin. He made it happen! We were over ecstatic with that service.

You can definitely ‘skip’ lines. As soon as you show your card, they put you in the front. We only did it twice though, for our 9 year old daughter.

They drink cart comes around to your cabin between 3:30 pm and 5 pm and the attendant asks if you would like a drink made for you. Also, you can have food from any of the specialty restaurants served in your suite - just let your genie know and they will arrange it. And there is no charge for room service.

We are also in cabin 10720 in Sept. How was the cabin? Did you have a good view of everything even though you were on port side?

The cabin was awesome!!! Would get it again in a heartbeat. I tried to take some pics but I’m not the best picture taker soooo[emoji16]

The cabin attendants were Aimy and Mark and they were very attentive and kept the room very clean.

There are 3 balconies with this cabin: 2 on the main level and 1 on the second level.

Here’s a sunset I took from the biggest balcony on the main level:

Were you able to get free room service from specialty restaurants?

Although we didn’t take advantage of it, our genie told us if we wanted to do that to just let him know and he would make the arrangements and that there wouldn’t be a charge.

We are Sky class on Anthem. Does the concierge do the same reservations for North Star, Rip Cord and cabana that the Genie does?

I don’t know as we didn’t use the concierge at all since we had the genie.

Thanks so much for all the information. It sounds like it will be just like the Oasis, the difference being the Chef's Table on Oasis was $25 for Star Class instead of the $100. We had Allen last year and knew he was moving to Anthem at the end of the year so are hoping he will still be there in Sept and we might be able to have him take care of us again this year. If not, any genie will be better than no genie.

One other question. We will be flying red eye from west coast and arriving in NJ about 7:30, We are planning on having our car service take us directly to the port, expecting to be at the port by 9 at the latest. We were hoping that our genie would be able to get us on the ship as soon as they start boarding. Did you have to set up a time, or did the check-in people let your genie know when you were there and come to get you. Both times on the Oasis we were taken directly to the front of the check in lines and then to a waiting room until the genie came, which only took a few minutes. Just wondering if it would be pretty much the same. Thanks again for all your info.

Jay told us to arrive at the port at 10 am. As soon as we arrived, there was a porter that loaded up our luggage. She then asked that we follow her inside where we were checked in and then taken to a waiting area for Star class. As the ship hadn’t fully cleared yet, Jay was not there waiting for us but he told the check in attendant to tell us he’d be with us as soon as they cleared the ship. We waited for about 20 minutes then Jay arrived. He escorted us onto the ship then gave us a personalized tour of the ship. It was pretty cool. We were definitely on the ship before 11 am.

Oh before I forget, he also arranged, without us asking, a bridge tour, galley tour and a behind the scenes tour for the shows.[emoji4]

De Nada. You definitely won’t be paying for Chef’s Table on the Anthem.[emoji4] Also, in Chops, you won’t pay for the lobster, which is typically extra.
