Docking at VÄRTAHAMNEN in Stockholm

We are docking at VÄRTAHAMNEN. I have searched this forum but haven't found much/any info about this. Is there a cruise terminal there? Will there be taxis? HOHO buses?

 

I have booked us (independently) on a food tour that starts at Östermalms Saluhall. suggestion on how to get there would be most appreciated.

If you berth where I think you do at Värtahamnen there won't be a dedicated cruise terminal. There is a ferry terminal just the north though. I don't know if there will

be taxis or HoHo buses (you have no need for the lattee one).

 

 

Two ways to get to Östermalmshallen are either walk to Gärdet subway and subway from there to Östermalmstorg or bus 76 from Värtahamnens färjeterminal to Nybroplan and walk from there to Östermalmstorg.

Which ship are you on?

 

You will either berth at Värthamnen V523 (next to Hamburgsvägen on Map) or V511 northern side of the pier

where it says TallinkSilja (ferry terminal).

V511 will be used by Aidadiva, Costa Magica, Costa Pacifca and Seven Seas Navigator.

V523 will be used by Azamara Journey, Sea Cloud II, Hamburg, Pacific Princess and Nautica,

 

For V511 it would be easiest to buy bus tickets at the ferry terminal and the nearest bus stop is

Värtahamnensärjeterminal stop at Södra Hamnvägen.

 

but for V523 the only place nearby is the Ica Kvantum supermarket at Malmvägen. I don't know if there will bus

tickets sold directly at the quay. Nearest bus stop is Malmvägen stop.

We're on the Pacific Princess so V523. Is there a metro stop within walking distance?

We are also docking at Vartahamnen 523 on Azamara Journey. We overnight on Saturday and disembarkation is on Sunday (August 19).

 

I have previously found your information on the bus stop and the ICA supermarket to buy bus travelcards, which we plan to do on Saturday.

 

Do the buses run on Sunday? If we want to take a taxi to our hotel (Radisson Blu Waterfront), should we arrange one in advance, and if so, can you recommend how?

We (husband & myself) are on this Azamara Baltic Cruise & also staying at the Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel.

We could possibly share a taxi, but it would need to be a van I would think with suitcases to fit in. We will have 2 large ones & small carry on.

If you want a taxi I would suggest to arrange it an advance even though it might not be 100% necessary.

That could work. We'd need to coordinate disembarkation time. Pete and I usually travel light. Might be just 2 carryon size bags and 2 small hand baggage (personal item). Possibly 1 larger suitcase instead of 1 carryon - to be determined when packing.
