Lisbon vs. Porto: Which Best??!!

From the London/UK Daily Mail in late June, they had this headline: Tripadvisor names the best travel experiences and attractions for 2024: A walking tour in Porto with these highlights: “A walking tour of Porto's city centre has been crowned by Tripadvisor as the world's number one tourist experience.  The winning Porto walking tour is described as an 'unvanquished' experience, exploring '2,000 years of history'. The tour ticks off 13 of the Portuguese city's main attractions, with one Tripadvisor reviewer describing it as 'amazing'.  There is no set price for the tour, with attendees asked to pay based on their 'level of satisfaction and personal budget' - the entire experience takes around two and a half hours.

Sounds like a great reason to return to Porto soon.  Right?

From the London/UK Times late in July, they had this headline: Everything you need to know about Portugal: a four-minute guide" and this sub-headline: "With all-year-round sun, how should you spend your time here?

Here are some of the reporting highlights by writer Claudia Rowan: “With more than 300 days of sun, Portugal is one of those rare all-year-round destinations that shines no matter what the season. But given how much culture and history awaits — not to mention incredible coastlines strung with golden beaches — deciding how to spend your time here can be tricky. We’ve done the hard work for you with this video.”

Have a couple of articles that might be of interest.  From this travel website and MSN News this past week, they had this headline: Historic Portuguese Palace Boasts One Of The Most Unique Designs In All Of Europe with these highlights:Just a few minutes outside Lisbon is the Pena Palace, one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal and a place unlike any other, where visitors can experience the true essence of 19th-century Romanticism. An infusion of historical architecture into one dazzling design of amalgamated beauty, the palace simulates designs from the Ottoman Empire in one section, displays German medieval castle elements in another, while the prominent features of Portuguese architecture are also present.  Situated on top of a mountain, the national monument features stunning views of Lisbon and the Atlantic Ocean (on clear days)."

Yes, we visited Pena Palace and super loved its setting, architecture, decor, design, etc.  It's a must-see from our experiences.

From this below-connected travel website and MSN News this past week, they had this headline: Lisbon in a Day: The Only Stopover Itinerary You’ll Ever Need with these highlights: “Something to consider is how incredibly affordable Portugal is right now. You won’t be tacking on too much to your trip budget by stopping for a night or two. I decided to do this on my way home from Italy and it was totally worth it. I can’t wait to go back!”

Among the top sights suggested are: St. George’s Castle Viewpoint, As Bifanas do Afonso for a quick lunch (great spot for THE Portuguese pork sandwich!), R. Augusta Promenade (beautiful pedestrian street with shops and cafes), Time Out Market for dinner and Arco da Rua Augusta:
