Does anyone know what the white "boxes" outside of rooms 8278 and 8286 are?

They are most likely housekeeping storage and crew staircases.

Does that mean it will be pretty noisy? I'm in 8278 and my brother is in 8286 so just trying to figure it all out. :)

Deck 8 is my preferred deck!

Love being so close to Central Park...

I would NOT worry about these areas, they aren't as noisy as you think, and I've stayed in 8262 before.

In addition to the housekeeping area already mentioned it also holds the crew staircase and crew elevator. Being acrosss the hall noise should not impact you. The busiest it ever is is on boarding day and the last day when they use it for guest luggage delivery / retrieval.

Funny!... Cruise by myself most of time on longer 10-17nite cruises. Was on one last year and every nite had an animal on my bed or hanging above it, I moved it to my desk. By last nite of my cruise had 9 critters over there. Made a good picture, Grand Daughter saw them and was excited and curious with animals she'd get on her cruise...
