trying to decide which bonus perk to choose either the classic beverage package or the gratuity package, which is the better deal.? We are not heavy drinkers but do have a few a day, plus the soda, water and coffee. Not sure which is better for your buck. Thanks

The gratuities cost $14.50 per day per person, so the value is $28 times 7. If you plan to spend more than $14.50 a day per person on alcoholic and soda and coffee beverages the drink package would be the better value.

Curious why OBC isn't part of your question. Assuming you are in a standard stateroom, gratuities are 14.50pp per day. 29 x 7 = $203.

The OBC perk is $150pp. Take that, use the first $203 to pay gratuities and you have $97 left to spend onboard (on drinks?).

If you think that you will spend more than $300 on drinks, than the classic package is the better "deal".

Speciality coffee is about $5, small bottle if water $3, soda $3.50, glass of wines in the $9-13 range. Add 18% prices to those for the gratutity and if you have just 1 of each a day the Classic Beverage Package is the better option.

It really depends on how much you plan to drink (alcohol, sodas, specialty coffees, etc.) and that often depends on how much time you plan to spend on the ship vs. in port. The classic beverage package is $55/day (at least on our cruise) probably plus 18% gratuity. For 7 days, that is much more than the OBC of $150pp.

Drink prices can really add up if you purchase a la carte. If you stick to the free coffee, iced tea, water, lemonade, etc. (as my DH does), then you're obviously better off with OBC. If, however, you plan to have a couple of glasses of wine or cocktails each day, get bottled water to take on your excursions, have a soda/beer by the pool . . . you will easily be over $150 pp for the cruise.

If you have Elite perks, then I would skip the drinks package since you have free drinks during the evening hours. But if you don't, that's probably what I'd do unless, as noted, you drink very little soda or alcohol.
