emmak8 Posted July 10, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 10, 2018 When sailed on the Majestic, it was in US dollars. Call Princess to be sure.
Rare OzKiwiJJ Posted July 10, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 10, 2018 It will be in AUD on an Australian-based cruise, just like the rest of the onboard costs.
Rare OzKiwiJJ Posted July 10, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 10, 2018 When sailed on the Majestic, it was in US dollars. Call Princess to be sure. With all due respect, your Majestic cruise was not in the Australian region as Majestic has yet to arrive for her first season down-under. Also the shipboard currency on your cruise was in USD, so your comment is not applicable to cruises in the Australian region.
land lover Posted July 11, 2018 #5 Share Posted July 11, 2018 (edited) I’m on a cruise on the Majestic from Australia. The cruise is in AUD$. What form of currency is used in the casino? Thanks! Tom on board accounts are in AUD, any on board credit from a princess promo or perk is a 1for 1 USD to AUD, all excursions are paid in AUD..so it would follow any spending on the ship including the casino would be in AUD, my & your cruise fall under Princess Australia.....no USD at all, except maybe if you cancel an excursion or have refundable OBC then AUD will be converted back to USD in check form and sent to you and from what I understand not at a conversion good rate. I am cruising on Sea.......38 days Sept/Oct.....just made final payment....in USD..will prepay grats in USD and a few other items. If I pre-purchase casino credit in USD I am assuming they will be converted to AUD...guess I will be calling princess to ask that one.... JJ, your posts have been helpful, for us new cruisers on a ship run by Princess Australia in AUD..... Just curious do you play in the casino? If so I have a question for you...
