Moriah Posted July 11, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 11, 2018 Does the Amsterdam dock at the Inner Harbor, or Ogden? (in Victoria BC) I'm having trouble finding the port schedules for Victoria. Does anyone have a link? Also, any recommendations for something to do that evening (we are only there from 6 PM and I will probably want to be in bed by 10! :)) just walking into town? Thanks in advance!!

jimzgoldfinch Posted July 11, 2018 #9 Share Posted July 11, 2018 Thank you!! Is it a long walk into town from that dock? About 20 minute walk to Fairmount Empress hotel. About 1.8 kilometres. Also try local bus which passes outside pier.
Moriah Posted July 11, 2018 Author #10 Share Posted July 11, 2018 About 20 minute walk to Fairmount Empress hotel. About 1.8 kilometres. Also try local bus which passes outside pier. Sounds good - if weather cooperates. Would you believe I've cruised this itinerary 11 times over the years, and only got off the ship at Victoria once? It was 4th of July week (can't remember what year) and we went to Butchart Gardens and also to the Butterfly Farm... it was great. Every other time we've docked in pouring rain and I haven't even seen downtown! So here's hoping for this year! Thanks for all the responses! grsnovi Posted July 11, 2018 #11 Share Posted July 11, 2018 We did the High Tea at the Empress once and it was very nice. We arrived late on our last visit and our shore excursion to Butchart was cancelled. On our first stop here we did an Orca Watch cruise that was possibly the highlight of the week. Rare *Miss G* Posted July 11, 2018 #12 Share Posted July 11, 2018 Alternatively, you can walk 10 mins to Fisherman’s Wharf and take a water taxi to the Empress Dock. http://https://www.victoriaharbourferry.com/destinations.html
cruising cockroach Posted July 14, 2018 #13 Share Posted July 14, 2018 Better hope there's no strong winds. Amsterdm couldn't dock ~2 weeks ago and spent most of the day in moorage.

The same thing happened to the Zaandam on July 1: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2651195 Victoria is such a lovely city. Hope everyone has a wonderful time there! They operated on a "leisure" schedule.
