july2012 Posted July 18, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 18, 2018 Do you think you would feel more ship motion on Deck 1 or Deck 7?
BoDidly Posted July 18, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 18, 2018 Forward ,Aft or Midship . Deck seven will have more motion than deck one .
GUT2407 Posted July 18, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 18, 2018 7 will have more motion, but some people are more effected by the fact that the waves “look” bigger from lower decks, for us the most important thing is to be close to mid ship.
Cruiseman38 Posted July 18, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 18, 2018 The higher you go, the more motion you will feel.
lgdick54 Posted July 18, 2018 #5 Share Posted July 18, 2018 Sea has to be really high before you'll feel too much. We prefer to be higher but just take your motion sickness remedy daily and you should be fine Sent from my SM-G920T using Tapatalk

firemanbobswife Posted July 18, 2018 #7 Share Posted July 18, 2018 You will feel more on Deck 7. I have stayed top to bottom, front to back. Deck 1 is amongst my favorite. So quiet and super convenient for getting on/off the ship at ports.
maryred Posted July 19, 2018 #8 Share Posted July 19, 2018 When picking your cabin think of a ship as several teeter-totters stacked over each other. The higher from the waterline and more off the center of the length of the ship your cabin is the more movement could be felt. SO if the choice is between cabins in the same section but a higher deck, higher = more motion. BUT a midship cabin on deck 7 might have less motion than a forward or aft cabins on deck 1. Another factor to take into consideration is most cabins along the outer hull of the ship, the bed placement is that your head and feet are pointed forward and aft. If suffering from seasickness not always the best orientation to lay down for relief. While the interior cabins have the beds mostly set that that your head and feet point toward port and starboard sides. This gives to some what feels like a soothing rocking motion. coevan Posted July 20, 2018 #11 Share Posted July 20, 2018 being life long sailors, we completely understand the science, however, twice we stay in a Spa Balcony, deck 12 forward on the Magic and Dream. We did not notice any significant motion and slept like babies.
DukeASUGirl Posted July 20, 2018 #12 Share Posted July 20, 2018 I always go as low as possible, and in the middle. I can't take motion at all. I get very affected.
