cruising cockroach Posted July 21, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2018 The few TA sites I've seen indicate that Ponant cruises are gratuities included. Reading through the FAQs yesterday, I noticed that the FAQs in French are a lot more detailed than in English and German. Among them was this one which is not n the English or German FAQs: Les pourboires sont-ils obligatoires ?La gratification au personnel fait partie des usages à bord des navires de croisière et est laissée à votre appréciation. Which translates (as good as my French is): Are tips obligatory? Gratuities to crew are left to your discretion. An unmarked envelop is left in your cabin at the end of the cruise. You can leave in an urn by the reception. This tip is generally in the order of €10-12 per pax per day and is shared among members of the crew. The other stuff pertains to animals, kids, laundry services, electricity and languages.
parischris Posted September 26, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2018 It's optional, but I have always left a tip for my cabin steward and an additional crew tip via credit card. It's not much in the scheme of things.
Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted September 26, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 26, 2018 I think it may depend on which country you book from. My Ponant invoice includes this line: TIPS FOR ALL INCLUSIVE USA That makes me think that other countries will have different inclusions.
