Allure - Rising Tide Bar, 70s Dance Party

Hi.

In looking at the Cruise Compass, I see you can pay a fee and be on the Rising Tide Bar during the

70s dance party. I understand drinks are included but I have the alcohol package so that doesn't matter to me. I have sailed Royal before and know we can hang on the Promenade but wondered

if anyone has actually done this and can share if they thought it was fun to do? I love to dance to 70s

music and probably my dh would be in the casino but thinking someone in my family of 20 may want to

hang and do this with me LOL

Thank you.

Read two Compasses for Allure, Western and Eastern. Both have info on the 70s party but neither mentions private seating on the Rising Tide. Might be a separate flyer though. Compasses were from ******************.com

We have not done this, but did sail with some people who did it on Allure last year, cannot remember the cost but they did it as they had lots of OBC, there were only about 6 people on the rising tide, it lasted for the duration and of the 70's party so about 45 mins and there was also a small buffet provided as well as drinks.

They said they enjoyed it but would not want to do it again. This seems to be another revenue stream for RCI as well as selling tickets on it for other events such as New Years Eve.

I know some people are not happy about it being zoned off but the ship is big enough and there are lots of other places to enjoy activities on the Promenade (imo) :D

We just did this a couple of weeks ago. It was lots of fun and a great way to watch! It was $52 if you don't have the drink package and $26 if you do. You get snacks, glasses (both ones to wear and ones that you drink from), glow rings, and a glow stick thing.

You go sign up at the Rising Tide bar.

Let us know how it goes, they didn't have the drink packages when I last sailed Allure.

No problem! We signed up the day we saw it in the cruise compass, but I am sure that if you ask they can sign you up early. They just write down your cabin # and the number of people.

FYI - I wrote a review of our Allure trip on the Royal Caribbean blog (under Live blogs). There are some pictures on there from the 70's party.

I also see that you are doing YC on Seaside! We did that in March. The YC area, perks, and the service we received in YC was amazing!

My husband and I attended this event, and we had so much fun. Obviously, since it's the Rising Tide Bar, they elevate you half way while the party is going on. It's great because you get to view the entire scene, and you're the center of attention (especially towards the end of the party). They lower it for attendees who need to use the bathroom, and they block off all the plebs who try to get on in the meantime ;p You will want to sit at the opposite end of the bar because that's where you will be able to see all the action.

The provided food was nothing but sweet stuff (candies, cookies, chocolate covered strawberries etc), so be prepared to grab some pizza if you start to feel sick. One lady who attended drank too much and blew chunks in the corner, so watch out for those who can't handle their liquor. The bartenders/servers pass out drink after drink of their choosing (champagne, shots, cocktails, etc), but you can order something specific if you want.

Attached are some pictures I took (it looks like they loaded upside down). I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
