Princess BOGO 50% Sales?

Hi Cruisers! It's been quite a while since I've cruised Princess Cruises, so I haven't paid much attention to their advertised sales/deals for a while. I'm planning on a solo cruise next year, and wondering if Princess periodically has sales for BOGO 50% off on the second person. That would definitely help with the single supplement if they do this. I know the last cruise line I was on did this, but they had single rooms, so it was still less expensive to go with the single room. Unfortunately, the ship I'm planning on does not have single rooms.

I have never seen this deal on Princess. Sounds like an NCL deal to me.

How does such a (fake) sale help a solo with the single supplement? The way RCI runs this little sleight-of-hand it definitely does not. They simply pick an arbitrary hyperinflated number for the "before" rate, add 50%, divide by two, and call it the BOGO-50% "sale" (sic) price per person. A solo wanting that cabin still pays 200% of the advertised price. If you are looking at a dedicated solo cabin, then the price you see is the price you pay--is it really lower than the average price during a regular sale?

 

Thank goodness Princess does not resort to such nonsense.

Last year, there was a opportunity for solos to sail with no single supplement. It was limited to the inside cabins for New England/Canada cruise. That's the first time I'd seen it, and found out about it here on CC (solo board). It was fantastic as I would never have been willing to pay the normal price.

 

I'm not aware of any BOGO 50%. Good luck!
