Miami Beach Pre-Cruise Hotel Recommendations

Looking for recommendations for a pre-cruise 2 night stay at a Miami Beach hotel. Would like to stay around $150 or a little more a night also. I'm thinking that it would be easier to stay at the southern end of Miami Beach due to the ease of getting to POM too. Also, would we need to rent a car from MIA to hotel to POM or just use a cab/UBER? TIA

When are you sailing? Time of year will have a huge effect on prices...

Don't even THINK about renting a car if you book a hotel in South Beach. Parking fees will easily be more than double the rental cost.

 

Again we need to know what dates you are looking at. Plenty of hotel bargains between now and Labor Day. But December thru April what is under $150 now will likely be over $350.

 

And how many/what ages are your party (asking due to 'family' screen name)? Most Ocean Drive hotels are not suitable for children. And rooms that hold more than two are less common and priced at quite a premium.

We are sailing mid-January. We've stayed at the Holiday inn-Port of Miami in the past, looking at Miami Beach for something new. Not concerned about a resort with a beach, as we just plan on walking along Miami Beach. So trying to decide weather to stay at Holiday Inn again then Uber down to Miami Beach for the day. Then that night spend it having dinner around Holiday Inn-Port of Miami.

You will not find any decent South Beach hotels in January for $150 :( You'll either need to up your budget considerably, or search for downtown hotels (not sure you'll find any there in Jan for $150) and then Uber to Miami Beach.

January and $150.00 will put in the worst hotels in Miami Beach.

 

If that is your budget, find a better place in Downtown/Brickell ($150.00 will still be hard) and then just Uber to Miami Beach.

 

No reason to rent a car, Uber is fine.
