Why did Carnival eliminate European Cruises?

I loved our Vista cruise in the Med. The other Carnival Corp lines do not appeal to us (the regionalized European format is not what I am looking for and Princess and HAL are waaaay too expensive). This leaves us with Royal or NCL if we decide to cruise in Europe again.

The airfare thing can be overcome. We just booked RT ATL-CDG for $580 per person for next May-June. We live 4 hours from Atlanta but even with gas and parking we are still coming in really cheap for flights. You just have to be creative.

We did have a pretty good cruise on the Vista didn't we.... There are times when they do things that make me scratch my head. I wish they did Europe every year, on the years when they do not have a new build, bring one over then sail her back at end of season. They are over saturated in the Caribbean anyway.

We had every intention of being on Horizon in the Europe this year. The short season did not work with kids in school so we did Vista again this year. Now Panorama will not sail at all. Of course we still booked. Looking forward to the other side of Mexico and Disneyland.

So our incredible airfare is getting us 10 days in the Loire. I can live with that.;)
