What currency will we need?

Morning all,

 

 

We are soon to be aboard the Allure of the Seas visiting Nassau, Cozumel, Rotan and Costa Maya.

 

 

With regards to currency is it essential that we get Mexican Peso, Honduran Lempira or can we just use dollars?

I have always used US Dollars.

I use a credit card whenever and wherever I can all the time, both on a cruise and at home. I certainly wouldn't go ashore without some cash however, as I may encounter a situation where they don't take credit cards.

It's always best to have some cash on hand to tip porters, pay for cabs and tip the various crew members on board.

I cannot think of any place Royal visits in the Caribbean (except possibly Martinique) that does not take US dollars.

US currency accepted at all the ports in the Caribbean. The only place where some shops (not many) want Euros is Martinique. CUBA is another story, see the posts concerning this with a SEARCH.
